Matt first started playing golf when he was five years old. He was given an old golf club by his Grandma, brought for £3 at a car boot sale. He has played football, tennis, cricket and golf, but over time golf became evidently more serious for him.

He completed GCSE’S and A-Levels at school and college attaining high grades in all subjects. The next step was to go to the University of Central Lancashire to study Golf and Leisure Management. After graduating in May 2002, he taught golf in Philadelphia and then moved to St Simons Island, Georgia to work as an assistant golf professional at Sea Island golf club, a fantastic five star resort home to tour players Davis Love III and Jonathan Byrd. Four for the top 50 Teachers in America work there so it was the perfect place to hone his golf game ready to play full time professional golf.

* Played eight 36 hole events, on championship courses around Great Britain.
* Started professional career on the Florida based Allstar golf tour. Six events, one win, four top five finishes.
* Top 50 on Europro Tour money list 2004, made tour championships.
* 15th on 2005 EDP Tour money list playing 13 out of 19 events.

* 2005 Polish Open Runner up- Lost in playoff.
* Currently 3rd on 2006 EPD Tour money list.
* Courses record holder at Mundesley Golf Club when he was 16, with a 64, 2 shots better than the previous record
Matt starting work with Keith Williams at the end of 2005 and has worked with leading golf fitness expert Ramsay McMaster, at the Melbourne sports and injury prevention clinic in Australia during the winter of 2005.
Matt finished 6th in the EPD Tour rankings in 2006.
After suffering some ill health Matt has 'temporarily' emigrated to Perth in Western Australia where his parents have settled. He's playing some local events and hopes to get his Tour ambitions back on track in the near future. We wish him well!
