Nathan begins his winter training programme

Whilst the final selection for English Golf Union training is about to take place Keith and Natrhan have their own programme to put together so that they can finalise technical improvements and then link these to any Sports Science and Sports Medicine applications that may be needed to enhance the development processes.

Earlier this week Nathan visited Keith in Shropshire for two days to plan and begin his winter training programme. They visited Shrewsbury Driving Range to use the Trackman launch monitor system with technical explanations from Phil Toomer - this proved invaluable as it confirmed Keiths' thoughts about Nathan's problems with his driver delivery angles prior to impact. Iron delivery was fine but Keith was able to make a clear assessment of the necessary changes needed in Nathan's swing and how they might go about achieving the improved impact alignments needed.

They had another positive session using Keiths' Sam PuttLab monitor system and confirmed that Nathans' stroke has improved but that there are still two areas he needs to work at technically to make it even more solid than before.

The rest of the time was spent on the range working at the swing improvements, discussing swing thoughts and making notes for Nathan to use as reference points and for use when communicating with other coaches.

All in all a practical and very necessary start to the off season training period ..... one that all serious golfers can make note of and use as an example of good practice in their own planning and development model.
