Onwards & upwards for Nathan and Klara - this is a major article on both players & contains Links and website information.

Nathan Kimsey has had a great start to his year. After fine tuning his swing with Keith throughout the winter and early spring he then spent a week practicing with his fellow england squad players in Spain.

After a fine performance in early April at the Faldo Series qualifier, he followed up by winning the Peter McEvoy Trophy at Copt Heath Golf Club with a record equaling score of 12 under par 272 to win by 6 shots.

He was then off to Carolina, USA to paly in the Sage Valley International event which includes some of the top under 19 year old players from around the world. A superb tournament left him in 5th place and he gained heaps of valuable experience.

A solid finish of 14th place at a very windy the Fairhaven Trophy followed the next week ... well done to Nathan.

Nathan has played golf since a very early age (2+) and competed in young competitions such as the Wee Wonders and events organised by the Golf Society of Great Britain (GSGB).  He won many trophies at this early age and has continued to progress to now, an extremely high level.

This year he has started and is amazing form – before seeing him in the Faldo Series qualifier at Moortown in early April; I had not seen Nathan compete since October of last year in the Faldo Series Final and I was amazed at the difference in him, his demeanour, his attitude and maturity around the golf course was and is staggering.  The way he won the McEvoy trophy just recently ticked all the boxes – he more or less lead from the front, was put under pressure at the beginning of the final round, but came through beating the closest competitor by 6 shots.

Following the McEvoy, Nathan was sent to the USA by the EGU to compete in the Sage Valley Invitational, which plays host to the top 54 under-19 amateurs throughout the world.  Despite the travelling, different course and greens compared to the UK and Europe, Nathan finished joint 5th, alongside Justin Thomas who was favourite coming into the tournament and is currently in the Top 10 World Men’s Amateur Order of Merit.
