October saw the World Amateur Team Championships taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The ladies Espirito Santo Championship and the mens Eisenhower Championship were played over two fine courses - Los Olivos and the Buenos Aires Country Club - the latter being just 15 years old and designed by Robert Van Hagge who also designed the Paris National course - one of the best courses in Europe.
Keith was there to support both the ladies and mens teams from the Czech Republic. Both teams played some fine golf at times but overall their play was too erratic at times and cost some of the players very dearly hence scores were inconsistent. Players showed they have the capability to play the shots and to shoot the scores that are required at this level of the game but as is usual with some of the smaller developing nations, the players have still to develop the ability to travel to other countries and play in difficult conditions under 'world class' pressure. Czech golfers are progressing in Europe but this event shows they need to move progressively up to another level - they have the ability but need more experience!
